This is a real stage 4 lymphoma journey that began with a tuberculosis misdiagnosis and delayed the discovery of Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.In 2019, a mild fever, cold, and cough felt harmless at first. However, those early symptoms slowly turned into a medical emergency that doctors failed to recognize in time.

Early Symptoms I Ignored During My Stage 4 Lymphoma Journey

At the beginning, nothing felt serious. The symptoms appeared common and easy to dismiss.I experienced:

• Mild fever
• Cold and cough
• Extreme weakness
• Loss of appetite
• Rapid weight loss

Because these symptoms matched tuberculosis, a local physician started TB treatment immediately. Unfortunately, no second opinion followed, and no deeper investigation took place.That decision proved dangerous.I consulted a local physician and was diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB). I didn’t question it. I didn’t ask for a second opinion.That trust was a mistake.Instead of improving, my health deteriorated day by day.

When TB Treatment Made My Condition Worse

After starting TB medication:my appetite disappeared,i lost significant weight and felt weak.I didn’t Google my symptoms.I didn’t seek another doctor.I assumed this was “part of the treatment.”Instead of improving, my health declined rapidly after the TB medication began.Gradually, my appetite disappeared. At the same time, weight dropped, and energy levels collapsed. Eventually, my body felt constantly numb and exhausted.I assumed this was part of recovery.I trusted the process.It wasn’t.

Breathing Problems That Changed Everything

Soon after, breathing became difficult without warning. As a result, emergency hospitalization followed.Doctors discovered fluid around the heart and lungs — pericardial and pleural effusion. They drained the fluid immediately.However, the fluid returned.That moment raised a serious red flag doctors could no longer ignore.

Emergency Transfer to Advanced Cancer Care

As my condition worsened, local medical facilities reached their limits. Because of this, doctors made an urgent decision to transfer me to a larger city by ambulance.At that stage, there was still no confirmed diagnosis.

Eventually, specialists identified the real cause.Doctors diagnosed Stage 4 Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma…..It was not tuberculosis.It was not a viral infection.It was advanced cancer.That diagnosis shattered physical strength, confidence, and identity all at once.According to the World Health Organization, cancer misdiagnosis remains a serious global health issue.
